Rainstick Workshop: A Sound & Spirit Journey in Nature 🌿

Step into a sacred space beneath the trees, nestled in bell tents, where Earth, sound, and spirit meet. This workshop is a powerful blend of spiritual practice, creative exploration, and community connection, designed to bring you into alignment with your intention and the natural world.

Duration: Approx. 5 hours
Location: Outdoors, held in cosy bell tents within a nature setting
Includes: Materials, tools, guided spiritual practices, and afternoon tea with vegan & gluten-free options (please select the appropriate option)

🌿 Workshop Flow & Details

Welcome & Opening Circle

We begin by gathering within the bell tents or on the land, depending on weather. A warm welcome, setting the energy, and short introductions to begin the day.

Smudging or energy cleansing on arrival (using sage/palo santo or aura spray)

Rain Stick History & Cultural Significance

We’ll explore the origin and cultural roots of the rain stick — traditionally believed to originate from indigenous cultures in South America and Africa, used in ceremonies to call in rain, honour nature, and connect with spirit through sound.

Topics include:

• Symbolism of the rain stick in ancient cultures
• Use of natural materials: bamboo, cactus, seeds, stones
• Respectful acknowledgment of the spiritual origins and how we carry this forward with mindfulness and intention

Guided Meditation, breath-work and setting intentions:

A fully guided meditation to ground and visualise our creations coming to life. The Rain Within 💙

Quick sketch and doodle of what you’ve seen during your session to bring forward into the workshop.

Material Selection & Intuitive Process

Participants are invited to intuitively select their materials, tuning into what they are energetically drawn to.

Choose from natural fillers: crystals, dried seeds, rice, sand, small stones.

Take time for some quiet reflection if needed

Crafting the Rain Stick

A creative, mindful crafting session in a calm and focused environment.

• Step-by-step guidance to create the rain stick (approx. 1m in length)
• All tools and materials provided
• Decoration: natural fibres, paint, feathers, crystal adornments, and more

This is a sacred act of creation. Your rain stick becomes a personal spiritual tool, infused with your energy and intention. We create, and let them dry.

Afternoon Tea & Integration

After crafting, enjoy a nourishing and grounding afternoon tea, with vegan and gluten-free options. A time to rest, connect, and reflect. Consisting of cakes and sandwiches plus sparkling beverage.

Activation Ceremony & Closing Circle

We return to the circle to activate the rain sticks with sound and intention.

• Each person will gently play their completed rain stick for the first time
• We then play together as a group, with an activation meditation, alongside some drums, voice and sound.
• Closing blessing and gratitude offering

🫶 Important Info

• All tools and materials provided
• Please dress for the weather – if we do have rain, we will spend most of the day inside the bell tents. It will most likely be warm!
• Bring cushions/blankets anything for comfort
• No experience needed – all welcome
• Respectful space held for all faiths, backgrounds, and beliefs
• Camping toilet on site
• This workshop has a slightly higher price due to the cost of materials and preparation work.

Spaces are limited to keep the group intimate and intentional.
Bring your open heart, your creative spirit, and your curiosity.

Cancellations: You can cancel up to 2 weeks before the retreat for a refund. However, after this time, it may be more difficult to fill your space. Therefore, you can transfer the ticket to someone else. If we have to cancel the event due to very bad weather (for example high winds that prevent us from putting up bell tents), do not worry! We will reschedule with a minimum of 1 months notice, so you can plan around your work and social calendar.
